Pros: The whole world is now realizing how IT can be used to meet requirements in an quickly, efficiently and accurately. Working as a Business Analyst allows you to firstly, understand how the plethora of technologies available today work with one another and secondly, puts you in the driving seat as to how these technologies will be used to meet the User's requirements. Ultimately, the work a Business Analyst does can have lasting implication that drive the success of a business.
Cons: As a Business Analyst, you constantly play the middle man between the Development Team and the Project Sponsors. Things get get tense towards the end of a project if planning has not been done thoroughly upfront and if communication is poor during the project. With IT projects, the only thing that is constant is that things will change - communication is key to managing expectations.
