November 2018
Business Analyst, IT:
Losing confidence in leadership. Location and flexibility are great, benefits are good, compensation is below average. Very little diversity in leadership, few women in top roles. Casual dress code and nice cafe on site are pros.
February 2018
Hard work for your money for expensive simple life.
Business Analyst, IT in Miami:
Pros: Cultural Diversity
Cons: Commute, expensive life-style
January 2018
Business Analyst, IT in Philadelphia:
Pros: I've worked in several states in the US; Philadelphia, Oklahoma, California and Nevada. Out of all the states outlined I am partial to where I was born and raised Philadelphia, PA. It's the city vibe. I tend to compare every place and working environment to Philadelphia and at the end of the day Philly wins out. The second best place is California where I worked at the Walt Disney Studios in Burbank CA as a research analyst and an Executive Secretary for the VP of Management Audit.
Cons: It's a hard nut to crack. It takes a while to get into the work stream. With my education with double masters I still had to start from the bottom to work myself up to a livable wage. First assignment was $10/hr over a span of 2 weeks; second assignment was $15/hr over a span of 2 months. I am currently employed on a short-term assignment as a business analyst for GSK at $22/hr. Philadelphia like most cities that I have worked in requires a lot of what you know...but who you know gets the ball rolling.
December 2017
Love Hate.
Business Analyst, IT in Singapore:
Pros: Convenience.
Cons: Cost of living is very high. Pay depends on the race and nationality.
November 2017
Business Analyst, IT in Sandton:
Pros: Relationship building with the customers and making them happy. The new knowledge gained about the business with each project.
