Barback Reviews
What is it like working as a Barback?
October 2020
Great atmosphere and employees make this job easy to love.
Barback in Augusta:
Pros: The music and my coworkers.
Cons: Lack of a raise in 6 years of employment.
May 2019
Underpaid.
Barback in East Lansing:
Pros: That I have freedom to regulate my work for each day, and go about doing it as I see fit.
Cons: The environment and the pay is absurd. The amount of stress and verbal abuse recieved on the job is not enough for what the pay is.
August 2015
Too Much for Too Little.
Barback:
Pros: The people I work with have quickly become my friends, and are always willing to help me if they can.
Cons: The title says it all. For all that is required of me, I get paid far too little. Tipouts are a mandatory 3% of all alcohol sales, and I always receive the bare minimum. On a busy night I may make $100 for tending to 3 bars, while a bartender may make $250.
