Bank Manager Reviews
What is it like working as a Bank Manager?
October 2016
Be Compliant.
Bank Manager:
Follow all the rules.
Failing to meet a target is not sackable, failing to follow the rules is.
Do what's right for customers and not what you think they should have.
October 2015
Being a Bank Manager.
Bank Manager:
Pros: I absolutely love working with our clients. They are mostly from the "Union" world as this is not your typical bank. Work closely with the Massachusetts Carpenters. We service annuity payments and processed "stamp" orders. I enjoy working/managing a team. I love teaching them new projects and having one on one meetings with my staff. I enjoy challenging them and also rewarding them for all their good and hard work. I like having meetings with Risk and Compliance and other departments to learn new experiences and to understand how the whole bank works as we all need each other.
Cons: Working 10-12 hours a day without a break.
Meetings to discuss meetings that we've already had.
April 2015
The pay most of my peers were making.
Bank Manager:
Ask for a high salary. Job can be quite challenging at times.
February 2015
Great company, great benefits and support.
Bank Manager:
Pros: I get paid well, I enjoy coaching my employees and helping clients, I love the technology.
Cons: I feel like to boss is always telling me to run the business my way and then tell me what to do.
November 2014
Planning is key.
Bank Manager:
Find a mentor early into your career, usually a senior commercial lender.
November 2014
Management Skill.
Bank Manager:
Learn to be a good leader, it is not the same as being a good manager. If you respect your staff and they respect you, you can lead them and your task will be easier. Your attitude will set the altitude for the office.
August 2014
Repetetive.
Bank Manager:
Pros: Simplicity, same thing day after day.
Cons: Mundane, complaining customers, possibilities of theft constantly.
