Cons: 1) negative stigma working for the Fed, below average prestige/respect, 2) no material perks and bonuses, 3) little opportunity to become "wealthy" within Agency.
Pros: 1) meaningful work saving taxpayer dollars by the millions, 2 & 3) excellent pay per hour in the accounting/business line of work, 4) 40 hour week & paid overtime when available, 5) less stressful cutthroat environment, 6) excellent benefits (medical, retirement, others) 7) flexible schedules, 8) ample paid vacation and paid sick, 9) auditing is never a redundant task, 10) countless opportunities to do something different: specialists, large & small contractors, system audits, rates audits, proposal audits, compliance audits, 11) learn and experience about how large and small companies operate and the various business systems, 12) work experience related for Govt. Ktr jobs 13) paid MBA and certifications (CPA, CFE, etc.) and CPA review courses (Becker, etc), 12) Agency provided CPE hours/credits required forCPA.

Long Hours With No Overtime Pay But Secure Field And Travel.
Auditor:
Pros: Travel - Earn bonus points with hotels and miles with flights that I can use for vacations.
Good pay.
Stable secure field.
Cons: Being away from family. Management doesn't understand how hard it is sometimes. People you are auditing don't like you right off the bat - you have to get used to being the "bad guy".
