Associate Veterinarian:
Interpersonal and communication skills are vital to your patients as well as your clients. Be able to speak in laymen terms. Clients that doesn't understand you, will not listen to you. Let's be honest, some probably won't listen anyway! Be strong in client education. Promote clients to understand and research the condition and issues with their pets, but let them know that DR. GOOGLE did not go to veterinary medical school. They are paying for the exam, treatment and advice. Guide them to proper search engines and websites that provide accurate information.

Associate Veterinarian:
Love people, because you'll end up working with them more than animals. And have a thick skin. You'll be frustrated and tired and want to throw things sometimes, but once you find the right fit for you it'll all be worth it. And don't forget to take care of yourself. You can't help anyone if your ill or stressed out.
