What is it like working as an Assistant Scientist?

January 2016
Lots of training required. Very repetitive job.
Assistant Scientist:
Pros: Easy going, no stress/pressure. Casual atmosphere with most people my age (22-25yrs old). Casual dress. Get to work with human biologics although the testing done on these is not as exciting as it seems on paper. Meant I could relocate to a different city in my home country.
Cons: There is too much training to be done before getting any hands on work, this might be good for some people as you basically get paid to do nothing but for myself it has made me too casual and lazy which hasn't prepared me well for when the work rate picks up. Although I was able to relocate to a new city my workplace is 10-15miles out of the city centre so I don't get the benefits of living in the capitol so my home life is rather unexciting.
