Intro Designer.
Assistant Interior Designer:
Pros: I love my job because it is a small studio firm by the beach. The style of the principal designers and senior designers is sleek, sophisticated, and contemporary. The people are all very sweet and easy to work with. Starting as an intern really helped me ease myself into the workload I have now taken on as an Administrative Assistant who is moving into the Coordinating job that a recent employee left.
Cons: I'm not exactly an Interior Designer. For good reason. The two senior designers we have in the office use AutoCad like wiz's. I don't foresee myself being at their level for years. I will need to take on side projects and much, much, smaller scale project - and continue my skill development on my own - until I will be at their level. Other than not being a designer, I really do get to be involved in the choosing of palettes and items as well as the process of evolvement.
