Art Director Reviews

What is it like working as an Art Director?

September 2020
Art Director in Denver:
The company has a lot of hard working employees but is plagued by bad leadership. There is a culture of underpaying, undervaluing, and underdelivering from the top. There are a surprising number of women in management roles but unfortunately it appears to be more about paying them less than it does about recognizing the value of female leadership.

A Small Big City.
Art Director in St Louis:
Pros: There are quite a few excellent design agencies and firms in the area, and I love seeing all the amazing work that comes out of them. They're not usually big, stuffy, self-important firms, but are generally down-to-earth and really invested in local initiatives.
Cons: There can be a fair amount of competition for jobs at the best boutique agencies. Lots of great designers, not as many non-corporate jobs.
April 2020
Challenging, creative, fun, stressful at times, rewarding.
Art Director in Philadelphia:
Pros: Creative freedom and my team
Cons: Pay transparency
March 2020
Great Company that's Beginning to Understand Importance of Marketing/Branding.
Art Director in Austin:
Pros: The creative, talented, loyal, flexible people on my team.
Cons: NI has started outsourcing talent which is unloyal to Austin and US talent. Employees are not as important and culture is changing.
February 2020
Big fish, small pond.
Art Director in Sacramento:
Pros: That it is smaller than other cities, and i know a lot of people.
Cons: The homeless population, break ins, and people acting like they are bigger than they are.
February 2020
It's very busy, at time it can be fun, other times can be draining.
Art Director in San Francisco:
Pros: The flexibility
Cons: the commute and traffic
January 2020
