Animator Reviews
What is it like working as an Animator?
May 2016
Disney Interactive, Avalanche Software in Salt Lake City, UT.
Animator:
Pros: Work on the best IP out there (Star Wars, Marvel, Pixar, Disney). Exciting to work on Disney Infinity. Great team with amazingly talented and experienced animators that are also great people. Utah is a great place to raise a family. Get free entrance for self and family to Disneyland and Disney World. Great manager that was very flexible.
Cons: Crunch time was pretty rough for Infinity 1 and 2, not as bad for 3. Was expected to be better for 4 until Disney shut down the studio.

IP, flexible, nice building, good location, free Disneyland.
Animator:
Pros: The people I worked with; some of the most talented and experienced animators I've ever worked with. Working on Star Wars, Marvel, Pixar and Disney characters. Working in Utah, great place to raise a family. Getting into Disneyland/World for free. Great manager, was very supportive and flexible.
Cons: There was quite a bit of crunch time. Was not paid what I felt I deserved.

Animator:
Pros: The fact that I like what I do and I can to id, also, the opportunity to be with talented people and get the most of it.
Cons: There is no respect for the artist in this country and the payment and working conditions are disrespectful.

Animation.
Animator:
Pros: I'm fortunate.
I do a job I would otherwise have done in the evening, after work and for free.
I love the fact that Animation gives me the possibility to express my creativity through any client need.
Cons: By dealing with many aspects such as networking, marketing, applying for competitions and grants, managing projects and other artists, sometimes gives me the feeling that I'm continuously chasing something without really reaching it. Of course, this feeling goes away when you delivery a project and can feel the enthusiasm and satisfaction of your client.
March 2016
Extremely passionate about the job.
Animator:
Pros: Everything, I enjoy working on each aspect of animation.
Cons: None, I cant think of any.
February 2016
Animator:
Be passionate about animation. Study and work hard.
January 2016
True Value.
Animator:
Don't undersell yourself. You are the only reason animation gets made. You aren't simply a cog to be jammed into a machine, no matter how much your employer wishes that were true.
