December 2021
Exploited for labor understaffed stores and under payed employees makes the health and well-being of the animals suffer one person is expected to complete multiple tasks and there is no communication from management on any complaints or need of help.
Animal Caretaker in Barboursville:
Pros: Being able to know that the animals in my care are healthy but based on our employees and lack of checking in from management I am sure other stores are not this way
Cons: I am no appreciated as a contributor to the company even though I gross very high sales in animals and fish and have a very high animal care rating.I am expected to do multiple other peoples jobs with no compensation. I have no say in how to improve the company and so called mangers from corporate don’t even know my name even though they want me to make them money when they can’t even pay me fairly. Our store is drowning and there is no help.

Animal Caretaker:
Pros: I love getting to spend my day with dogs. Some of them are really well behaved and their owners are genuinely kind people... Most of them anyways.
Cons: It is a very physically demanding job and the stress you have to deal with on a daily basis is hard to deal with. There is also the daunting task of trying to keep a dog daycare spotless which is a futile effort. It's very frustraing.
