What is it like working as an Aircraft and Powerplant (A&P) Mechanic?
July 2021
Honestly avoid if at all possible.
Aircraft and Powerplant (A&P) Mechanic in Miami:
Pros: lead mechanic was a really stand up guy
Cons: upper management throw you under the bus when productivity Falls below 7% ,at least in Miami you only get an increase in pay if you're a yes-man for management and put in more the 60 hours a week.if you actually have a life and cant don't expect a bump in pay no matter what they say. their medical insurance is a joke it's 2x the cost from my previous employer and half the coverage. in summary ALOT OF CONS FEW PROS steer clear. there's a reason the whole station cleared out and got with their competitors....... best of luck
March 2021
Wouldn’t recommend it.
Aircraft and Powerplant (A&P) Mechanic in Seattle:
Pros: Easy work
Cons: They tell you to your face having a education / experience in aviation and having an A&P doesn’t matter. They pick people up off the street with no training, throw them on a flightline. The managers know nothing about planes too. It’s the blind leading the blind.
August 2020
Under paid, over worked, backbone of the company.
Aircraft and Powerplant (A&P) Mechanic in Bridgewater:

You do almost nothing and get paid.

Great company with lots of opportunity.
Aircraft and Powerplant (A&P) Mechanic in Crestview:
Pros: SNC invests in its people and also provides a very generous benefits package. The program I am on also is a great program with great leadership.
Cons: Sometimes the travel wears you down, but that’s a relatively minor because you are fairly compensated for said travel.
November 2019
Stressful environment.
Aircraft and Powerplant (A&P) Mechanic in Weatherford:
