Accounts Payable Specialist Reviews
What is it like working as an Accounts Payable Specialist?
November 2016
Accounts Payable Specialist with many hats.
Accounts Payable Specialist:
Pros: The experience I am getting in my current position is great! I feel like I am always learning something new. My supervisor recognizes my talents and that I am interested in learning different things. I was promoted from an entry level position in the warehouse to accounting/inventory specialist six months after I was hired.
Cons: Because I am someone who works to accomplish the goals of the entire organization, I am constantly working in several different departments. I got a pay increase when I was promoted in March and I feel like it wasn't enough based on the knowledge I have about several different positions. Whenever other employees take a week of vacation, I usually fill in at their desk for the week and am still obviously expected to get my own job done. However, when I go on vacation, I don't have someone filling in for me! I wear several hats, and I have no problem doing this. It simply is the fact I don't feel like I am compensated for the different skills I have.
