Walgreen Co. Reviews

What is it like working at Walgreen Co.?

Overworked Underpayed.
Photo Specialist in Galloway:
Pros: Social interactions
Cons: I'm paid almost minimum wage and expected to complete the work of two to three people by myself.
Absolutely terrible.
Pharmacist in Florence:
Pros: The pay is decent and I love the relationships I've been able to build with my patients, but this is NOT typical of a Walgreens pharmacy
Cons: Absolutely terrible management
Old Guard is thriving, new ideas are not welcome.
Senior Analyst, Finance in Bartlett:
Pros: Prescription benefits, working with people outside of department
Cons: Management is set in old ways. No new idea is welcome. Management always wants to prove how smart they are.
The work and people were great, until the RIF came along.
Lead Systems Engineer in Chicago:
Pros: I liked seeing the positive changes I could bring about in the company, due to the work that I and my colleagues engaged in. It was hugely gratifying to see how well everything worked after we were finished upgrading, enhancing, or replacing some aspect of technology.
Cons: The time-consuming, needlessly redundant change request software. Quite a bit of productive time was lost engaging in useless "paperwork" and associated CAB meetings, much of which could have been eliminated by spending more time customizing & tweaking the options for the change request software.
Some words here.
SQL Developer in Benton:
Pros: Opportunity to learn and practice new skills and meet challenges.
Cons: Its often disorganized in that there is no clear direction or established body of knowledge to work from.
Quality Control (QC) Associate in Florissant:
Pros: I work at the testing site, so I enjoy knowing that my job is making an impact on helping the world become safer.
Its alright.
Customer Service Associate in Tampa:
Pros: I love the customers and how fun and close I am with my coworkers.
Cons: The lack of communication and under-appreciation for the crew members who basically run the store.
