Its okay but I feel my pay is not fair.
Supply Clerk in Richmond, Virginia:
Pros: I like that its not a very stressful environment
Cons: being under paid and overworked
VA is overall a good place to work.
Psychiatric Nurse (RN) in San Diego, California:
Pros: Working with the Veterans and some of my co-workers.
Cons: VA appears to not promote on merits (good work or higher education). VA promotes through management games and leverage from the union. Poor performers who know the inside scoop to use the union during their annual evals get promoted. It took me 4 years to understand that, but a lot of co-workers are in the know about it. Has given me some bitterness. I could be a anecdotal complaint , but ironically those who work around me who have worked with VA for close to 20 years all seem to have the same story.
