Average Hourly Rate for Plattsburgh City School District Employees

Pros: Being there for the children and being part of a community that collectively contributes to our students lives in a positive way is the most satisfying. The community within my building is especially very supportive and appreciative.

Cons: Occasionally it feels like Paraprofessionals are an afterthought when it comes to training opportunities on Professional Development Days.

Pros: The short answer is the people I work with . . . other faculty, staff administration and especially the students. Pursuing this job was a late in life career choice following 25 years in sales and customer service of one type or another. Until this job I have never experienced the level of appreciation, respect and basic kindness in the workplace that I receive at this school every day.

Cons: Not making a living wage. If I had to live independently as a single person without the benefit of having a husband I would be struggling to make ends meet.
