Dollar General Corporation Reviews
What is it like working at Dollar General Corporation?
Assistant Manager in Avoca:
You don’t get paid enough for the amount of stress and pressure put on you. The company does not care about the employees enough to give the stores enough hours so people aren’t overworked and overwhelmed.
Being a Dollar General Sales Associate can be very rewarding.
Sales Associate in Indianapolis:
Pros: I like helping people, whether it's an elderly person looking for the right medicine, or someone looking for the perfect gift.
Cons: Rude people, theft, lack of security in the store, being on my feet for so long
Grocery Store Manager in Adrian:
Pros: Having the 1st choice to the items I need 1st when we get new truck deliveries.
Cons: The pay isn't very well for the amount of work one has today. The company is very poor about getting things done in a timely manner for their employees.
Not enough training. Unfair we ge stuck with untrained cashiers.
Lead Sales Associate in Crestview:
Pros: Casual dress ware
Cons: Not being trained correctly
I am only paid for 40 hr but required to work 48. I have a very high shrink store. I work around 90 hours a week trying to meet my DM's expectations, although it never seems good enough.
Retail Store Manager in Lake City:
Pros: Providing excellent service to our customers, doing what I can to help them any way I can.
Cons: The demands are to high, I have a new team and every one is learning. I wish I could have more then one day off a week. I have put this job before everything in my life and I thought it would make a difference when evaluation time came but it didn't.
It could be a good place, just depends if you have a good manager of bad, to many managers, that play favoritism, if they like you ur a good worker if they don't ur a bad worker, I strongly believe that managers should be fair all the way around.
Assistant General Manager (AGM) in Oklahoma City:
Pros: I like the work I do, I get to sometimes learn new things.
Cons: Managers not being fair.
Local job, local people, friendly.
Sales Associate in Flemingsburg:
Pros: The employees, the customers (small community) see repeat customers often. Everybody knows everybody
Cons: There is nothing I "dislike" about it, but I think a BILLION DOLLAR CORPORATION should pay better AND OFFER UNIFORMS!
