What is it like working at Dollar General Corporation?
Horrible.
Sales Associate:
Pros: Talking to the people and working with my team.
Cons: I had a horrible manager and he didn't do his job.
Great company.
Assistant Store Manager:
Pros: Hours are flexible, the company is growing, and my store manager is a very good manager.
Cons: Wish I could get more hours, and a more consistent schedule.
Corporate with customer service docus.
Key Holder:
Pros: Manager that values cust serv. High volume store in a rural setting. Time flies and store manager self accountable for corporate procedures keeping stress out of store daily tasks.
Cons: Retail hrs and low pay.
District Manager, Retail:
Pros: The people and customers that I engage with daily.
Cons: The ever changing retail world to try and stay ahead everyday.
Good alot on the plate.
Retail Store Manager:
Pros: My customers being in a leadership role.
Cons: Working long hours at times one day off a week.
Undercompensated.
Cashier:
Pros: The customers, the work & the majority of my coworkers.
Cons: The boss, the hours I work decrease in pay, my hours drop when new coworkers are hired & etc.
Sales Associate:
Pros: Flexible hours, hands-on work, near McDonald's or Carolina Girls for lunch or buy food in store.
Cons: They don't really trust their employees as they claim, some of the rules they have inconvenience the employees and/or customers, stores are shorthanded (often only two people on a shift), cashier has to deal with extremely outdated register (maybe 20+/- years old), etc.
