Lead Sales Associate in Gaffney:

Cons: Pay and workload
Sink or Swim.
Assistant Store Manager in Corryton:
Pros: I used to like the flexibility that Dollar General provided to me and my family. The people I worked with became like a second family to me. And the people in the community were mostly pleasant and friendly. I was able to make lots of positive connections through Dollar General while working a job that I was good at.
Cons: Over time, Dollar General has lost that flexibility and family feel that I loved so much. Lack of payroll has both turned good employees away and took its toll on the amount of training new employees get before they're thrown onto the sales floor to fend for themselves. People simply don't want to work for a company where they basically have to figure it out themselves.
