Personal Assistant Reviews
What is it like working as a Personal Assistant?
March 2015
No rest.
Personal Assistant:
I did not realize that being a personal assistant meant being a mother, wife, sister, daughter and Aunt at work as well.
I always thought assistants get paid to sit and make the boss look pretty.
Your boss relies on you like a toddler would, you have to nuture and care for them.
You have to handle conflict like your kids are fighting, you have to be ab agony Aunt, a doctor and a therapist.
You need to ensure that you are highly organised, always a step ahead, you will have to think on behalf of other people and make difficult decisions when the boss is not around.

As a PA to the MD it is essential to know everything about working in an office from Microsoft office packages to taking minutes and writing reports.
Best would be to do a special Personal Assistant course to help you prepare for what you will be doing.
