Nike, Inc. Reviews
What is it like working at Nike, Inc.?
The culture globally its a great company to work for. In countries its shocking.
Merchandise Manager in Johannesburg:
Pros: I get to work with products and a brand team that tells powerful stories. a brand always at the forefront of change.
Cons: the culture in the south Africa office.
processes not transparent
a lot of biases towards people of colour, the treatment is not the same.
Great place to grow.
Retail Sales Assistant in Texas City:
Pros: Nike has been invaluable in helping me grow and gain insight with customer service
People who actually do the work are never appreciated. People who are good at BSing are rewarded.
Technical Product & Program Manager in Portland:
Pros: Work life balance, emphasis on health
Cons: The office politics. There is absolutely no mentoring/promotion process at Nike
Making the Magic Happen.
Information Analyst in Portland:
Pros: The front row seat I have to Product Creation
Cons: Consumers of my work don't always understand what it takes to create or provide what they need and thus don't communicate needs well.
Empowering Sport, through Technology.
Principal Software Engineer in Portland:
Pros: Nike may be the best company in the world right now. From a beautiful Diversity & Inclusion program, to Pay Equality, to Real Maternity/Paternity leave, and countless more services that are provided to employees. To the ability for Engineering to be *so close* to the consumer, and so connected to sport and the Nike brand in our day to day roles - There’s true excitement, every day. #swoosh
Cons: The expected struggles of a company that has had a digital presence for over 20 years. The adoption of Dev/Ops came fast, the perceived attrition to the latest and greatest of Silicon Valley far outpaced the reality of what was built and deployed in production. Alas we’ve since turned that corner, and I’m highly optimistic about Nike’s Technology future.
The most rewarding job I have had since the Military.
Retail Associate in Texas City:
Pros: Freedom of being myself no confinement to a cubicle.
Cons: Advancement opportunities
Hands Down the Best Place I've Worked in My Career So Far.
Sr. Software Engineer / Developer / Programmer in Portland:
Pros: Autonomy and a highly supportive, collaborative team.
Cons: Ratio of contract to full time employees varies widely across teams, orgs, divisions.
