Thermo Fisher Scientific, Inc. Reviews

What is it like working at Thermo Fisher Scientific, Inc.?

We live our mission.
Senior Finance Manager in Broomfield:
Pros: COVID has shown what a diverse and substantial impact our company has to society and we have stepped up significantly to deliver testing, treatment, and vaccines to the world.
Cons: Too many challenges at one time that cannot always be solved by adding bodies.
Intense yet extremely mundane.
Manufacturing Technician in Frederick:
Pros: The relationship between colleagues. I enjoy being around and conversing with nearly all of my peers and some of the Supervisors. Half of them treat you as equals, work alongside you, and just want to get through the day without drama, frustration and hassle. The Supervisor I like and respect most is always rushing around a very large building to ensure everyone is not only working, but working without problems. He will go out of his way to teach you how not only to properly work on task, he will show you how to do it the easiest way to complete the task properly. He doesn't cut corners, but he takes shortcuts. He exemplifies the saying, "work smarter, not harder." He never speaks in a condescending manner to anyone, despite being their superior, as a supervisor. His work ethic truly sets an example for everyone "at the bottom of the company ladder," so to speak. I would say about 75-85% of the supervisors are like this. Just watch out for the other 15%, as the way they act and look down on everyone can easily ruin your entire 8.5-9 hour shift.
Cons: It can be very mentally exhausting, yet monotonous at the same time. You have to have tremendous mental fortitude to push through the long, boring days. Personally, I don't mind extremely monotonous and repetitive tasks. You have to learn what you, personally, can do that will keep you sane while you get and complete an order to fill, cap, and label 1,500 bottles of oil or sterilized water.
Its a good company to work for.
Field Service Engineer in San Diego:
Pros: Job Security and interesting work.
Cons: Filling out service reports and returning parts.
Fun, Many Hats, Alot of Overtime, Pay could be better.
Training Coordinator in Logan:
Pros: Flexibility is great, Working with talented professionals is great, Stable Company to work for
Cons: Internal advancement and pay system is terrible. They will hire someone externally for almost 2x what they would pay you to move up into some positions.
I like the work I do.
Store Team Leader in Johannesburg:
Pros: I like to know that the job we do saves lives
Cons: unrealistic Expectations and the culture staff personalize
Very stressful but satisfying.
Robotics Technician in Santa Rosa:
Pros: Knowing that what I do helps make a difference in the world
Cons: Its stressful meeting deadlines
Low pay but ample opportunities to learn and grow quickly.
Research Scientist, Biotechnology in Princeton Junction:
Pros: Dynamite c work environment and cross communication with clients s directly
Cons: deliver results in tight deadlines
