DaVita Inc. Reviews

What is it like working at DaVita Inc.?

It's great because you interact with the patients.
Security Officer/Guard in Bridgeport:
Pros: The patients
Cons: The staff isn't professional enough for the job
Ever increasing workload.
Registered Dietitian in Los Angeles:
Pros: We help very sick people
Cons: The company keep pinching pennies and cutting costs at the expense of patient and teammates. Now it seems like "company first, community second."
Patient Care Technician:
Payscale is low for all the HARD work you put in. I’m starting to see a lot of young teammates and nothing is wrong with that but the attitudes some younger people give is evil pure evil. I couldn’t take it anymore so I resigned plus the pay just ain’t worth the headache.
Dialysis Registered Nurse (RN):
-DPC (patient to staff ratio): The PCT's are overworked and spread thin. Unless your state has specific regulations for patient to tech ratio, FA's (facility administrators) will often be pressured into sending Techs home at the 1st opportunity. As a RN, I find myself constantly touting off "patient safety" warnings that are in conflict to DPC. -Females, particularly PCTs, are paid less for the same work/level of experience/value to the company than their male counterparts. There seems to be a Good Ol Boy culture. Worse yet and tragic, is that many of the women in upper management seem to get off on marginalizing their female subordinates. -Healthcare coverage is overpriced and has high deductibles. If your spouse has an insurance plan, chances are you're better off using that one. -Stock benefit is nice. You can purchase DaVita stock @ a 15% discount and it's performing well. No monetary incentives for working long or later night shifts. Eg: Fresenius adds a % for shifts > 12 hrs and after a certain time. -Annual pay raises are a joke. Unfortunately, the only way to get paid a rate in alignment to your value is to "company hop," as in strategically switching companies every couple of years and negotiating your starting salary. Imagine all of money the companies would save if they simply provided adequate raises. -PTO seems to be one of the few competitive benefits. -Lack of quality ongoing education. Most is performed online through next to useless Star Learning video
Registered Nurse (RN) in Owensboro:
Pros: That I can work 3 days a week and be full time
Cons: That I work hard and do not feel like I am being paid adequately
Senior Program Manager, IT:
I have worked for several Fortune 500 companies. DaVita is simply the best organization I've been associated with so far. The culture and the people are the best aspects of working at DaVita. Benefits and compensation are competitive.
Good pay and work hours.
Registered Nurse (RN) in Long Beach:
Pros: pay and work hours
Cons: office located in basement
