DaVita Inc. Reviews

What is it like working at DaVita Inc.?

Hemodialysis Technician in Denver:
I'll start with the good- I have been a dialysis technician with Davita for 6 years during time I worked in 5 states and 30+ clinics. The ability to relocate and have options to transfer is the only thing that kept me for so long. Working in California pay was fair and job requirements were achievable, but I found it to be quite the opposite in Colorado and Nebraska. Working short staffed is a common theme at all locations I have seen, I constantly was unsure if I was going to have a second tech come in and help me run a facility with TWELVE patients, all while maintaining your strict 15 min per patient intervals. I loved being a dialysis technician and taking care of patients, but constantly being nagged at about clocking in early or late is frustrating. In the past 6 years Davita has taken a terrible turn. They now have only businessmen making rules and regulations about things they actually know nothing about. I'm sorry if you have never dealt with a patients low blood pressure, or cleaning up puddles of blood from under the chair- then you have absolutely no right to set a precedent for clinics.
Depends on the clinic and number of clients to serve. I am now per diam. I retired 7 yrs ago but continued to fill in then became the perm SW at my current location for last 5 years.

Stressful.

It’s ok.
Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technician in Houston:
Pros: Some people are great to work with. There’s opportunities of growth if you look.
Cons: They look for ways to not pay you as much as they should.
Crazy days.
Dialysis Registered Nurse (RN) in Lucedale:
Pros: Being able to share love and compassion with my patients
Cons: Not enough staff to care for patients sufficiently
Depending on your region and managers, job satisfaction can vary significantly.
Dialysis Registered Nurse (RN) in Whitsett:
Pros: The patients are the only reason I stay; I've built relationships with them, and they deserve good, knowledgeable staff. Concerning the company there are good benefits. Education reimbursement, opportunities to attend conferences.
Cons: I had a good team, and then once they discovered they were being grossly underpaid, everyone left. There is so much unexplained variation in pay, it feels unfair, and biased. The RODs and above constantly lie, they only care about money, and not the patients. They are always short staffed l, and will require long term coverage of other clinics; they don't care out the employees' health and work life balance. Very high nurse:patient ratios, and frequently over the already high ratio, as they are constantly short staffed.
I received excellent review in my performance.
Dialysis Registered Nurse (RN) in Hercules:
Pros: Being appreciated by physicians, coworkers and patients.
Cons: Favoritisms
