Intel Corporation Reviews

What is it like working at Intel Corporation?

Software Engineer:
The company is run by hardware engineers managing software engineers. The software practices are poor, but improving. The project management is the old waterfall style, but quickly changing to Agile practices.
Leading-Edge Development.
Software Developer in Hillsboro:
Pros: It is great working for a company that is on the cutting-edge of microelectronics development and manufacturing. I love having a significant part in the internal operations that keeps employees at the peak of their contribution.
Cons: Intel has grown into a large multi-national corporation with the attendant pains of breakdown in cooperation between corporate services and critical internal customers.
Work life.
Firmware Engineer in Longmont:
Pros: Corporate culture. Flexible hours.
Cons: Management.
Great.
Senior Software Engineer:
Pros: Love my work.
Cons: Average pay.
Corporate, Flexible work.
Administrative Assistant:
Pros: Able to be flexible with hours when needed. Medium stress.
Cons: Medium stress level. Working for Directors in 3 Geographical areas. Are to know what some people really need when you to don't see them often. Hard to come to work when no one else is working over holiday season.
Software Architect:
Pros: Being part of a company that is truly a world class technology leader.
Cons: Software is a second-class citizen. Silicon design and schedule is always job 1. Management rarely recognizes that tradeoffs in silicon design to pull-in silicon schedule typically push out the software schedule by 5x longer, thus the overall time-to-market is worse.
Technical Refresh + Technological Innovation.
Software Engineer:
Pros: Continuous learning and application of knowledge to envision solutions and implement them with others.
Cons: Time needed to network across departments to find the next project or technology direction.
