Microsoft Corp Reviews

What is it like working at Microsoft Corp?

Good but underpaid.
Marketing Manager in Dublin:
Pros: Management of own time and accountability - not micromanaged, flexibility and remote working
Cons: Underpaid
Hope you like meetings!
Marketing Director in Seattle:
Pros: Driving consumer creative
Cons: Office politics
Software Engineer in Redmond:
While the projects are frequently interesting and many of your coworkers will be great to work with, the quickly declining work life balance and poor pay (compared to the local competitors) make it difficult to want to continue to work here. HR continues to have problems with handling employee issues and has been terrible at hiring since I joined with no signs of progress.
Good place to work.
Technical Program Manager (TPM) in Redmond:
Pros: Very organized, great focus on process, well resourced.
Cons: Not a lot of autonomy, frequent box-checking.
Good culture and always improving.
Business Process / Management Consultant in Seattle:
Pros: People are smart and professional. I like that most people know their job well.
Cons: As a vendor you get substantially underpaid in comparison with FTEs. Also you don't get the perks they have but you work way harder.
Mostly great, occasionally frustrating, occasionally stressful.
Customer Success Manager in Oviedo:
Pros: They definitely enable you to advance thru educational requirements, certifications etc. They pay substantial bonuses. Free Healthcare even for family members.
Cons: Their obsession with Diversity & Inclusion, it seems like that is their only concern sometimes. It's important but sometimes feels all consuming.
Always Learning and Challenging.
Cloud Solutions Architect in Dallas:
Pros: The people are great and all very smart, tons of opportunity to learn from a resource perspective as well as a business opportunity perspective. Good benefits as well.
Cons: There's a good amount of pressure to continually learn and train to keep up with the industry and my colleagues. Everyone is very intelligent - I have to try that much harder to stand out (for my own ego), but Microsoft has created a culture of "team-based" contribution incentive goals to help ease some of the individual competition.
