Video Game Producer:
Unless you are at a senior level, studios who manage costs through layoffs often cut producers (and associate producers at an even higher rate). Despite needing project managers, "scrum masters", people managers, etc to bring a product to fruition, few studios view producers as directly necessary for the success of a product. Expect high odds of yourself being in a seasonal - or post product launch - layoff event ... Sometimes it will happen to you annually. Also expect that video game studios are in limited territories, and have oppressive non-compete agreements. That means when a layoff event happens you find yourself relocating across the country or globe to find your next gig of requisite seniority. If you are comfortable with a nomadic lifestyle, and frequently joining/leaving employers, this could be a great match for you. But it may not be right for you if you enjoy things like: stability, home ownership, and steady employment at only 1 company.
