Statistician Reviews
What is it like working as a Statistician?
December 2018
Statistician:
It's great. Relaxed and low stress environment (in my position). Requests tend to be reasonable and achievable (in my position). I am given the tools to accomplish what is expected of me (in my position). Pay is really good for the area in general. It is a large company though. You have to be okay with being a COG in the machine. Also, management and HR are not allowed to quickly promote high achieving people. There are very rigid rules for advancement, and the only way to skip steps is to take a job that has a high turnover rate. That being said, there are far worse places to be.

Better than Silicon Valley.
Statistician in Nashville:
Pros: Light traffic, affordable, city has all the amenities of a larger city like SF or ATL. However, they are easily accessible. Anything someone wants to do, outdoors, indoors, wine tasting, music, theater, bars, just going for a drive is right here. Most importantly, it is a great place to raise a family.
Cons: Stress induced camaraderie. Silicon Valley is a great place to make friends at work as you suffer together at your job. You bond in a special way with people there. That type of bond and friendship does not develop here in Nashville.
November 2016
Statistician:
Pros: Challenges the mind. Opens eyes to the health situation of the country as it is on the ground.
Cons: Not being allowed to be innovative.
July 2016
Corporate culture, work flexibility, office.
Statistician:
Pros: Nice colleagues.
August 2014
Great Place To Work With Other Talented People.
Statistician:
Pros: I like the diversity of clients and application of analysis. Our main tool of analysis is the statistical package R which I am a huge fan of.
Cons: Taking unpaid leave is is a big ask from a small company with a large number of people working part time. There also times of high work volume, leading to fair bit of stress and working unpiad overtime.
