Design Landscape Projects For Residential, Campus, Business.
Sr. Landscape Architect:
Pros: Meeting new people, getting to understand their wants and needs and coming up with ideas they would have never thought of themselves. I really good at this process so when I design something it's rare that I ever have to go back and change anything. I enjoy campus design as well because it's a different that residential. With campus design you have to think on a larger scale and consider how people will use the area you are designing over a long period of time. It's rewarding to see the results as I manage the projects. And in the case of campus design to follow it over the years and know that students come back to the campus years later and it looks even better as the trees get better and other things age. Some of my campus designs have been in place almost 50 years now.
Cons: I guess it would be the detail tracking of the cost of jobs as they are being installed and trying to keep them in line with the estimates prepared before the design is even completed on campus projects. On residential projects the estimates are set after the design is completed but the owner's always add or subtract from the project as it's being installed so costs can run up quickly and its hard for them to understand what they are doing to the budget.
