Software Developer, Games Reviews

What is it like working as a Software Developer, Games?

October 2015
Software Developer, Games:
Never give up there is always a way to make the software.
May 2015
Flexible, but demanding.
Software Developer, Games:
Pros: I like being able to work from home some of the time. Since much of my team is a mix of marketers, publishers, and the like, I sometimes telecommute or work elsewhere, and stay casual. It's a volatile schedule, which I enjoy. Sometimes there are light days, sometimes there are days staying at the office until 11pm to get an update done. I'm always learning, whether it's something about the business or a new SDK to implement.
Cons: That much of the work is outsourced. I would much rather the team had its own people to develop the art and games, rather than be in just a maintenance role.
March 2015
Fun, interesting and challenging.
Software Developer, Games:
Pros: Everyday is a new challenge. New skills are learned and you learn that managing clients is quite a different story. You learn a lot of skills and software. Project management is also a big plus that I learned from it. Working on a variety of projects such as POS design, exhibition stand designs, 3D animation, rendering and game development gives you the ability to quickly solve problems and bring in your level of expertise across the board.
Cons: The salary and the lack of benefits.
