April 2021
Chaotic.
Senior Systems Administrator in Ada:
Pros: The people and the opportunities to challenge myself
Cons: The stress and constantly shifting priorities
April 2021
Great start! Stagnant Opportunities.
Senior Systems Administrator in Dallas:
Pros: Full use of skills.
Work-life balance.
Good work-remote lifestyle.
Great culture; everyone is respectful, courteous and cordial.
New education opportunities.
Cool tools in the tech arena.
Technology use autonomy.
Cons: Stagnant role. After 6 years with company, I still have same title despite role changes and many org changes/different reporting managers at different levels of the company.
No career path, no advancement opportunities, no feedback on what needs to be done to be promoted (or even to have title changed to match the current role despite over 200 unique titles when we had ~400 associates).
Even lateral movement next to impossible (we've lost associates wanting to join our team due to lack of process and no discussions about how to make that happen).
Very white; needs diversity.
Onboarding is a challenge.
March 2021
Senior Systems Administrator in Santa Barbara:

Cons: Management isn't very progressive to implement technology and improved practices.
April 2020
Feeling great as I'm contributing to Healthcare in general.
Senior Systems Administrator in Toronto:
Pros: culture, team members and flexible hours and work
Cons: left out, no communication from management, low pay
January 2020
Senior Systems Administrator in Austin:
Whole Foods Market is a great company to work for. The team I work on is very fast paced. Almost unsustainable. The company cares about culture but doesn't seem to support training and development and doesn't have adequate career pathing even though they have job dialogues and bands for employees.
January 2020
Challenging and fun IT work in a dying company.
Senior Systems Administrator in Dallas:
Pros: Coworkers and job tasks/projects I work on are rewarding. We enjoy a respectful but close relationship with IT management.
Cons: More and more, the rewards have gravitated toward Sr management and the uncertainty, risks, and disappointment seem to have spread out to those below them. The risks of working for a cyclical industry used to be balanced by opportunity and financial rewards.
