What is it like working as a Security Consultant, (Computing / Networking / Information Technology)?

April 2020
I'm not a fan, but it's not too bad.
Security Consultant, (Computing / Networking / Information Technology) in Wroclaw:
Pros: There is a lot of IT-related jobs in Wroclaw, so finding or changing one is not a problem. You can go boating since the Odra river is big enough. Also depending on your preferences you can find a lot of places to party or have a drink. The city square/market is pretty nice.
Cons: The air is polluted (but this is universal for Polish cities), the city is located on a plain so the terrain is completely flat, there are no lakes, sea or mountains - the location of the city is boring. The housing costs are high (considering the salary).

Security Consultant, (Computing / Networking / Information Technology) in Sydney:
Great place for people who "get" how consulting can offer a way to drive your own career. Terrible place for people who wait for work to be assigned rather than choose what they want to work on - most projects suck, and comp does not match. The culture is good, people are friendly and quite often very competent. Management often sell work to clients without having a clear idea on how it gets done.

Complex issues resolvable only by external vendors as the whole IT department has been outsourced.
Security Consultant, (Computing / Networking / Information Technology) in Toronto:
Pros: The freedom, lack of stress, learning opportunities, working remotely
Cons: lack of internal IT employees that I can work with together
