Receptionist in Moundsville:
Pros: I really enjoy where I am working; with the other employees and the animals. I work as receptionist to all clients bring in their pets. All the client and patient info is entered into the computer system. After surgeries are finished; I enter that info in computer and make a voucher for each pet's procedures. I also discharge pets to their owners by going over the after care instructions.
I originally started with another program through the Animal Rescue League. I worked the front desk at the shelter, entering info from surrenders and adoptions from the shelter into the computer system. When the new Spay/Neuter clinic was opened, I was asked by the shelter director, at the time, to come to work at the spay/neuter clinic with her. She is now the director of the clinic and I am the lead receptionist.
Cons: I sometimes feel I am left out of the loop of things going on at the clinic. Many discussions and decisions are made by the current director, the vet tec ( who has only been there 2 years), and the Veterinarian ( who has resigned her position as full time vet).
Since Feb, we have 3 different vets coming a day or two a week, to do surgeries hoping to keep up with the shelter adoptions needing vetted for adoption. Also doing as many surgeries for the public as possible.
We are looking for a new full time vet so we can return to full time work. At that time I feel I am due a pay raise.
