What is it like working as a Radiation Therapist?

September 2023
Good.
Radiation Therapist in Jacksonville:
Pros: Living near family and cost of living is relatively low.
Cons: Ive never lived anywhere else. I am a native of Jacksonville.
March 2023
Sad and unsatisfying.
Radiation Therapist in Johannesburg:
Pros: Permanent salary
Cons: Incomprehensive work hours and shifts, lack of appreciation, lack of tea or lunch breaks. Security / location of department when working early am's (when it's still dark) and leaving late at night (after 8pm at night). No toilet breaks, no tea breaks - we work for slave drivers who do not think we should have any life outside of work. There is definitely no work - life balance.
June 2022
Helping people.
Radiation Therapist in Amstelveen:
Pros: Solving the puzzles. Finding the best way of treatment. Talking to colleagues.
Cons: The pay. The fact that healthcare will never earn as much as business.
February 2021
Run.
Radiation Therapist in Asheville:
Pros: My workmate is the only good thing about this job.
Cons: Everything. The equipment or computers go down on a daily basis. We never get communication, always understaffed, office is old moldy and dangerous and no one cares. We are just told we complain to much when we ask about the back door that wont shut or lock so when we come in at 6am in the dark we don't know if it safe or not.
November 2019
