Production Engineer Reviews
What is it like working as a Production Engineer?
August 2019
Production Engineer in Tulsa:
Pros: The people, the company routinely doubles back on previous promises so they do not have to pay
Cons: Compensation. Constantly overworked, understaffed, and underpaid. Cant even get a COL increase.
April 2019
Micromanaged and not really making a difference in the world.
Production Engineer in Calgary:
Pros: Stable and structured company with lots of resources.
Cons: Mission statement is great in theory but none of it is true in practice. Senior management is out of touch and middle management is all yes-men focused on impressing their boss rather than doing what is right or improving the company. All bad ideas from senior management are done without questions and instead of setting a vision and objective management tries to dictate all day to day tasks. Employees are not empowered to do anything and coming up with ideas is so much administrative work that it’s not worth it and there is no reward at the end so there is no point. There is no freedom to think outside the box and experiment with new ideas and fail then learn from failure because middle management is only concerned with impressing their bosses. We don’t promote people with any emotional intelligence of effectiveness they only promote whoever spends the most time at the office or answering emails after hours which are usually just the most inefficient people with no backbone. Processes are being put in to replace good people because we don’t trust or foster the development of people and our managers have no emotional IQ.
