Product Design Engineer Reviews

What is it like working as a Product Design Engineer?

December 2021
Eh.
Product Design Engineer in Bristol:
Pros: Small, horizontal company— opportunity to wear many hats.
Cons: Poorly managed, lack of direction, zero structure. Lots of mistakes due to poor communication, “cya” environment— somebody always has to be blamed when something goes wrong.
November 2021
Wonderful city to live in that gives acess to all outdoor activities, with numerous restaurants and breweries, but crime is becoming an increasing issue with no clear plan to improve.
Product Design Engineer in Portland:
Pros: Access to the outdoors and great food.
Cons: Increasing amount of crime and violence.
August 2020
Fulfilling, fast paced, friendly.
Product Design Engineer in Los Angeles:
Pros: The group cohesion and resources
Cons: Lack of clarity in negotiating pay and promotions/finding new opportunities
October 2019
Product Design Engineer in Tampa:
I have been with Mercury for just over 3 months. It has a great atmosphere and great people. Under new leadership for the past 2 years, and everyone I've spoken with is happy with the changes being made throughout the company. I am told that it is a good time to come aboard, and I feel that way as well.
July 2019
Product Design Engineer in Phoenix:
This company pays below market level for Senior and Principal Engineers while expecting Project Engineering Support along with direct engineering support. There is an inadequate number of projects to keep one fully engaged while senior management expects high yields exceeding 48 hours/week with no overtime. Those who most benefit are tier 3 and higher managers. I would recommend avoiding for profit and working for a good nonprofit company that recognizes and rewards results.
April 2019
Respected but not Compensated.
Product Design Engineer in Cincinnati:
Pros: I have a lot freedom without much over-site!
Cons: The pay scale is weak because our customer GE is cheap!
February 2019
It's soul crushing.
Product Design Engineer in Dixon:
Pros: There are a lot of good people that work at Raynor
Cons: Engineering is understaffed and over worked
