Practice Manager Reviews

What is it like working as a Practice Manager?

July 2015
How healthcare would change.
Practice Manager:
Having to keep up with ever-changing health care over the past 10 years is overwhelming. Also, growing the practice and learning how to promote the practice on my own has been challenging but very rewarding.
April 2015
Benchmarks and Better Employee Relations.
Practice Manager:
Finish your degree.
March 2015
Work.
Practice Manager:
Pros: Casual Dress. Sole worker.
Cons: Not enough pay. Isolated. Lonely.
February 2015
Medical Practice Manager - The Obama Care Explosion!
Practice Manager:
Pros: CHANGE - When hired two years ago, the practice had not implemented an EHR program (however had purchased 6 month prior). Implementing systems of operation and integrating the program in the practice was extremely challenging. The change brought awareness to other weaknesses which caused further implementation of a EMR program that would integrate with the EHR program. This led to terminating our outside billing company and utilizing staff in house to process billing. Because of all the growth within the medical field (over 35,000 residents of SLO County now have access to healthcare) the practice has had to deal with a surge of new patients. This has led our practice to purchasing a larger building to accommodate the counties need to provide Dermatology services. Note: Four Dermatologist in SLO County have or are in the process of retiring due to the rule/regs being enforced thus our practice is seeing their patients.
Cons: Challenge and seeing work flow at its best. It's like running a machine that keeps breaking or losing a part. One must constantly be monitoring systems of operation and be willing to implement change in order for the practice (machine) to run smoothly.
February 2015
Loyal to a fault.
Practice Manager:
Pros: I enjoy finding the right team to make the clients happy. Seeing happy, healthy animals walk out of clinic and knowing they are receiving the best possible care for the value. Knowing our clients return over and over for the kind, caring employees make this the best job.
Cons: Never knowing what the owner wants. She changes her mind on a regular basis and makes you feel like a child if you don't achieve the desired outcome she has. The big problem is she doesn't give instructions on what direction to go and undermines every decision you make.
January 2015
Challenging and Delightful.
Practice Manager:
Pros: 1. Problem Solving. 2. Meeting customers. 3. Recognition.
Cons: 1. Stress. 2. Ambiguity. 3. Brutal System.
November 2014
Practice Manager.
Practice Manager:
Pros: Enjoy organizing practice, employees, implementing new programs, payroll, developing new marketing programs.
Cons: Having to counsel employees to correct behaviors.
