Gather business requirements. Identify test cases and scenarios. Identify if baselining is required to existing programs. Identify stand-alone programs. Gather the Production volume expected. Run tests in a test environment that is as close of a match to the Production system as possible (hardware wise) Run performance tests with enough volume to represent production volumes. Identify performance bottlenecks. Analyze the identified issue. Provide a recommendation to the concerned group. Re-test after issue is resolved. Document the whole process.
