What is it like working as a Paralegal?

January 2019
Paralegal:
I was at Perkins Coie for 18 years as a paralegal. You work hard and you need to be very good at your job but you are paid well and treated respectfully. They give you the tools you need to succeed. Your hard work will pay off but you do need to work very hard. At the Portland office we had lots of parties and nice treats (like gift cards) and you work with an exceptionally capable group of people. The down side is that most of the paralegals retire before age 60 because the work is stressful and demanding. I had some health issues before I retired and the firm stuck with me until I chose to retire. I left feeling very appreciated for my years with the firm.

I interact with home office associates as well as associates in the communities and everyone is wonderful. Great culture and compensation plus the benefits are amazing. I have never worked anywhere where the benefits were this good!
