Optical Dispenser Reviews

What is it like working as an Optical Dispenser?

June 2021
Very busy, need to be able to multitask & be on feet all day.
Optical Dispenser in Perth:
Pros: Customer interaction
Cons: Poor management from owners
November 2020
Hard work.
Optical Dispenser in Perth:
Pros: Meeting people helping and guiding them
Cons: How busy it gets and how short staffed we seem to be all the time, too many people in the store, don’t care about COVID all about money.
November 2019
It depends entirely on your store location and your franchise owners; overall it is a great place you just have to be lucky with where you are.
Optical Dispenser in Perth:
Pros: My specific store is friendly and the staff all get along really well, I see opportunity for growth however it can often be difficult to get any support in order to achieve that growth (contacting RTM etc). My workplace paid for my Cert IV in order to increase my skills, and helped me by sending me on my usual workdays to training anf still paying me for those days.
Cons: I have been pushed into a role that I am not being paid to do, and I have brought it up with the owners of the franchise I am at, have felt like they haven't heard me and that nothing is going to change. I feel like I am being under paid for what I do.
September 2019
Challenging.
Optical Dispenser in Gold Coast:
Pros: No eyes are the same, interesting
Cons: The work especially at our busy store it’s stressful and disorganised
March 2019
Love it.
Optical Dispenser in Hobart:
Pros: Not fair to travel
Cons: Pay rate
December 2018
Optical Dispenser:
Started out great but after the honeymoon period was over true colors came out. Very stressful job for crappy pay and very little support or room to advance. More into the pathway experience then the actual patient being helped. Doctors are great to work with but not FYI it self.
January 2017
Sumter sucks, but being on base is great.
Optical Dispenser in Sumter:
Pros: Lots of military, thus most customers are very courteous and polite.
Cons: It can be a little sketchy, even on base.
