Musician or Singer in Sugar Land:
Do your home work. Take lessons and research strategies for financial success as a musician. Take time to learn how to record and edit. Look into scoring for film and movies. Dig for royalty opportunities. Learn how to book shows. Find out what a fair wage would be and don't be afraid to charge that. Look at what other people in other industries make AND what benefits they have and shoot to earn the same for yourself. If you want to write or compose, trust your instincts. Don't let perfectionism get in the way of creating. Complete is better than perfect. ASK FOR HELP! Collaborate with others. And once you get into a rhythm of all of the above, enjoy it!

In order to achieve any level of success performing original music, capital is essential. Spend around $1,500 on a demo recording in either Nashville, TN or Los Angeles, CA, and pay for well-known session musicians to make appearances; this helps to spread the word about your project. Seek investors and sponsors to support tours, and keep an e-mail list of fans. It also helps if you have talent.
