Medical Laboratory Technician Reviews
What is it like working as a Medical Laboratory Technician?
August 2019
No room for advancement.
Medical Laboratory Technician in Salt Lake City:
Pros: Benefits
Cons: Not appreciated. I'm just a body. They are ultra regulated beyond FDA and CLIA rules. There personnel management policies are unfair. They protect "protected classes" to the detriment of their employees. Instead of investigating claims they take what the protected individuals say and don't allow the other party to respond. (Some people are vindictive and despite company policy to the contrary they will lie to get others in trouble).
May 2019
A lot of information thrown at you at one time but at the same time, you receive a lot of help and guidance. Severely inderpaided and most times you hardly do your profession.

Medical Laboratory Technician in Frederick:
Pros: The people I work with and the chance to make a difference in a smaller city like Frederick, MD
Cons: It feels very routine and factory-like in its repetition. I wish we were a CAP certified laboratory.
May 2019
Very structured.
Medical Laboratory Technician in Salt Lake City:
Pros: Insurance is reasonable. Retirement is really good.
Cons: I don't like the culture of blame that is prevalent and people can blame you for doing stuff whether or not you did it. You are not allowed to defend yourself, present evidence to the contrary or anything. There is no innocent until proven guilty. There are certain people who take advantage of this in my organization. It used to not be like this but it is now.
