Mechanical Engineer:
If you enjoy problem solving and creativity this can be a fun and challenging career. You can make what you want out of your career. In R&D I have been able to lead and direct project with significant business impact and personal satisfaction. However, solid designs are often overlooked by business leaders as the details are not well understood. Even though customers keep coming back for the design quality, the closer you are to the money (sales and management) the more you will make.
