Every day brings new challenges. A career in a law enforcement and/or in a detention atmosphere is not for everyone. They require strong self confidence and the ability to find humor in what some would find depressing situations or they will break you down quickly. The compensation is good, the retirement benefits are good, and the need for good quality, honest, reliable people with good integrity is there. There are quite a number of areas of employment in this field for both Certified Law Enforcement personnel as well as civilian personnel, and opportunity to move around within the Sheriff's Office or within County Government.
