Dubuque is community.
Information Security Officer in Dubuque:
Pros: There are a lot of cultural and family things to do in Dubuque. You can live outside of the city and easily commute in. Being close to Illinois and Wisconsin broadens the range of events and scenery at your fingertips. There are great coffee shops, good restaurants, and the traffic is not bad.
Cons: Depending on where you work (e.g. Downtown) parking is a hot commodity. And employers tend to think they can pay you less than you're worth because Dubuque isn't a large city.
July 2017
Unprofessional managers, but good pay.
Information Security Officer in Toronto:
There is no room for great ideas and innovation here. Often, there is not even room for arguments and contractors are threatened to get fired on a daily basis when they challenge an idea. 1- Learn to go with your manager's direction (even if it makes no sense) until his idea fails, only then you're allowed to try your idea, because it's their last resort. 2- Contractors have ZERO recognition. Managers get the recognition when things are good and they try to keep you hidden from meetings etc..., but when things go bad, contractors are held accountable, not managers! That's the only time where you're introduced to others... 3- Managers lack the vision and professionalism; expect to be shocked by their communication skills. 4- Overall, only work here for financial benefits - the culture and environment aren't healthy and there's absolutely no room for career growth.
