Pros: Providing leadership and support for the development of members and their companies. Leading the development and implementation of policies and procedures that contribute to the achievement of the Bourse or it’s membership’s mission, values, priorities and objectives. Bring in new members. Develop web based business and a trading platform. Bring in more service and/or organizations that would add value to the bourse. Manages change by anticipating or responding to developments within the external and internal environment that may impact the Bourse or its membership. Contributing to the overall direction, leadership and management of the Bourse, as part of the senior management team
Cons: Increase trading activity in the bourse via tenders, seminars, etc.

Being close to customers is crucial
General / Operations Manager:
But not if you want to be promoted. It seems the closer you are to frontline, the smaller the rewards despite straplines about how important customers and colleagues are to any business. Doing good work for senior managers and making their lives easier is really where rewards lie. It's not right but a reality.
