February 2021
Gas station attendant.
Gas Station Attendant in Bangor:
Pros: The gas station is a great place to work. It is generally quiet and there is not much that needs to be done. It is mostly monitoring the pumps for spills, helping people who don't know how to scan their membership card and taking cash orders. That, combined with the daily safety inspections take up about 3% of the entire shift.
Cons: I am trained in many different positions including: Gas station, Tire bay, front end (cashier, self checkout, curbside/BOPIC), i can do store recovery, carts, and i even help in the deli sometimes. I have been with the company for just about a year and they pay me 25 cents more than when I started and they have me scheduled regularly in positions that get paid quite a bit more than I am. If you are looking for a job with a lot of verity, i would highly recommend Bj's, but if you are looking for a place that daily compensates you for your abilities, i would not recommend Bj's.
