Field Service Engineer:
Make sure you know what you are getting into: some companies view 'field service' differently than others. To some, it is being in the field (traditional); to others, it is more of a technical service position and you don't see as much of the field as you do a desk (non-traditional). Also, some field service positions consist of everything from startups/installs to retrofits and troubleshooting, while others don't have all of those items. If you enjoy a lot of travel, a bit of stress here and there, and working directly with external customers, field service can be a lot of fun.
