Facility Manager Reviews

What is it like working as a Facility Manager?

September 2014
Low opportunity for advancement.
Facility Manager:
Advancement is highly unlikely: If you weren't hired from a business college directly into an Executive position you have about a 1% chance of promoting to that level in your Group (multiple states). Heavy company cutbacks across all sectors. At best 10% of employees under management level are getting close to 40 hrs a week. Many of the team leads (managers) aren't even hitting 35 hrs a week these days and it just keeps getting worse... VERY low team moral - Negative energy coming from everyone below executive level management makes it an unpleasant atmosphere to be in every day.

The Management.
Facility Manager:
Pros: The exposure, you get to know almost everyone within your environment and it helps you build a better relationship. It necessitates team spirit. Its an open management level.
Cons: Stress level is too high. Certain decisions are dependent on other units of the business and thus hinder progress of work.
