Deputy Executive Director, Non-Profit Organization Reviews
What is it like working as a Deputy Executive Director, Non-Profit Organization?
September 2015
A Big Commitment.
Deputy Executive Director, Non-Profit Organization:
Pros: I enjoy helping people in need and being there for others in some of the worst moments of their lives. Dealing with victims of crime and trauma can be very emotional and draining but it is a rewarding job knowing you make a difference. I also enjoy supervising our volunteers - we currently have 11 in our program and they make it possible for us to respond to victims calls 24/7.
Cons: It is a huge time commitment. I work in the office 40 hours a week but also cover on-call shifts outside of office hours. At times it is hard to get used to the amount of coverage that is needed in this field.
